Architectural design of nursery schools in the context of the current concept of pre-primary education in the Czech Republic

This Diploma thesis is dealing with problematics of architectural solution of working space within kindergarten in context with conception of contemporary preschool education in the Czech Republic. The goal of the thesis is to analyze architectural and spatial conditions within selected kindergartens in the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into two parts. Theoretical part is focused on preschool child, kindergarten, laws regulating architectural space solutions in kindergartens in the Czech Republic, and architectural and spatial parameters for kindergartens. The goal of thesis' practical part is to analyze how different spatial dispositions affect ongoing educational processes in examined kindergartens. Practical part states objectives of the thesis, research questions and methodological tools, applied during research phase of the thesis. It focuses on selected faculty kindergartens with different disposition solutions and analyzes their spatial disposition in relationship to educational processes and child's play. Then analyzes and compares different points of view to the problematics from selected professional educationalist and architects. Implementation of the Learning Stories Method in a Czech Nursery School

The diploma thesis focuses on the Learning Stories method and its implementation in a Czech pre-school. Its aim is to explore, document, and analyse how the Learning Stories method is applied into a Czech pre-school as a part of the process of formative assessment. The theoretical part defines assessment in the pre-primary education - its content, and characteristics. Selected assessment tools used in a Czech pre-primary education are introduced. The theoretical part then focuses on the definition of the formative assessment in both Czech and foreign literature, and on the analysis of the Czech Statutory Pre-primary Educational Framework in the relation to the formative assessment. It also describes theoretical background of the Learning Stories method and its use within the international pre-primary education. The empirical part presents the aims of the research project - its methodology and results. Research data were acquired from a content analysis of learning stories and from semi- structured interviews with teachers who have been working with the LS method. Semi- structured interviews focused on how the teachers implemented the LS method in their schools. School and her position in society

This work deals with the meaning of school as an educational establishment (mainly of a kindergarten) and it´s place in the society. Trying to find the answer for the question: {\clqq}What is the position of a kindergarten in a present-day society in Czech?`` In it´s theoretical part it is concentrated on the profile of the topic and it´s social importance, including the development of the school system from historical point of view, function of school in educational, intergral and social sphere, specifities of a mersery school, determination of methods and aims of researching. The main part {--} the practical one {--} is aimed at the research itself of the position of school in the Czech society and comparing the gained experience and making final inference.
